In our paper Conduction of Electrical Impulses Through Nerves - An Explanation (published in Apr2014, www.hpathy.com) we have shown that Nerves conduct electrical impulses through orientation of water molecules and the presence of ions only helps in stabilization of the orientations of water molecules.
